We are delighted to announce that calls are now being accepted from Wales based dance companies and independent artists to participate in the touring programme for family audiences presented during Easter 2018.

Family Dance Festival 2018 (FDF2018) will present a package of highly engaging ready-made foyer/outdoor works by three Wales based companies or independent choreographers including Bombastic’s Wallflowers by Sean Tuan John. The three pieces will be packaged into one programme which will also include local community groups at each of the eight venues and a short taster workshops led by the professional companies, in rotation. We are looking for light and entertaining dance pieces (solos, duets and trios) suitable for family audiences that are no longer than 15 minutes in duration with minimal technical demands. Work submitted can be extracts from longer productions however applicants will need to demonstrate clearly the extracts they wish to present.

The selection panel, made up of Carole Blade, Bombastic’s Artistic Director Sean Tuan John and Chapter’s Programme and Learning Manager Alice Burrows, will review the work and make announcements by Monday 29 January 2018. No interview required.

The contract dates are between 19 March – 13 April 2018 and includes a four-day preparation and remounting period, housed at Chapter, Cardiff which will be overseen by the project’s Creative Director Sean Tuan John and Creative Producer Carole Blade.
