Bombastic & Coreo Cymru in partnership with Cardiff Institute for the Blind (CIB) and Creu Cymru’s Hynt are hosting a seminar event focussed on working with Audio Description for live theatre and dance.

The afternoon will include presentations by Dr Louise Fryer, a broadcaster and pioneer in audio description, Alistair Sill a professional AD and CIB’s Community Co-ordinator, Megan Merrett of Hynt and a member of the public who will offer a perspective, from a blind person’s point of view, of attending theatre’s and arts centres in Wales.

Following a panel Q&A session chaired by Dr Louise Fryer, attenders will have the opportunity to experience live audio description of Family Dance Festival, a national touring package of three professional dance companies including Bombastic, Jukebox Collective and Alex Parsons’ Gary & Pel. The preview starts at 4.30pm and will be presented outside in Chapter’s forecourt (weather permitting) or in Chapter Café.

The industry focussed event is open to venue managers, performing arts industry specialists, producers, artists and audience members and is designed to encourage the use of audio description within performing arts programmes.
