Up & Over It – Into the Water

Screen Shot 2017-01-16 at 14.48.13

Internationally renowned dance duo and Riverdance alumni, UP & OVER IT, present extracts from their latest show INTO THE WATER commissioned by Coreo Cymru.

Funny and moving, INTO THE WATER tells the story of two people who find themselves cut-off from the outside world. Exploring how traditions are made, the show questions how simple games can grow into guarded rituals. With a modern twist on the folk stories and dances that are found throughout Northern Europe, the show draws inspiration from the Nordic folklore of Lyf and Lífflrasir, and the cyclical nature of life. We see the characters emerge from the roots of tradition, and follow them as they find their feet through the strange yet familiar dances and playground games they create. With music from British and Irish nouveau-folk artists, audiences will be transported to a dreamlike world through innovative use of sound, light and projection.
