For the first time since being established in 1998 by National Dance Network, this prestigious internationally recognised industry showcase is coming to Wales, bringing opportunities for the Welsh dance sector to connect with artists, producers and presenters from across the UK and beyond.

Below details a number of opportunities to network, share and view dance at BDE2016 Cymru, taking place from 15 -18 March in Cardiff and Newport.  

One Day Pass BDE2016 is offering a One-Day pass for Thursday 17th March. There will be a limited amount of places available of which 50% will be held for independent artists and producers. People Dancing People Dancing and Rubicon Dance in association with BDE2016 will present a members’ gathering and network session from 1pm on 17 March 2016. It will feature presentations from guest speakers and international artists who place participatory dance at the heart their professional practice and choreography. Participants will also have the opportunity to see a selection of BDE2016 performances and have access to the trade-show, discussions and festival party.

Coreo Cymru is offering bursaries to support Wales based independent artists and practitioners to attend the People Dancing event. Email to request a bursary form.

Advertising at BDE We have a number of opportunities to advertise events, tours and programmes within the delegate packs and the BDE2016 brochure. Starting costs of £75 for flyers, £150 for brochures and £250 for a full page advert in the BDE brochure which will be distributed to up to 500 promoters, funders, artists and producers.

Wales based companies will receive a 25% discount on advertising. Email for details.

Performances on Public Sale  Within the dynamic British Dance Edition programme five performances will be on public sale at Wales Millennium Centre and The Riverfront in Newport offering audiences a chance to experience some of the most exciting dance the UK can offer. Business of Dance  A limited number of places have been reserved for Wales based dance artists and producers to attend a seminar at Wales Millennium Centre on 9th February between 2pm and 5pm. The afternoon will include a panel discussion with British Council Theatre and Dance team and industry professionals, focussing on the benefits, complexities and logistics of working internationally. Standby Tickets  BDE2016 is planning to offer local artists standby tickets for the non-public performances along with the BDE performing company members. If you would like to be included in the standby list and are able to attend the events at less than 24 hours notice please contact Coreo stating the days and times that you could be available.

Volunteers Required  We are seeking volunteers to support the smooth operation of the event and would love to hear from anyone who would like to help us delivery BDE2016.
