British Dance Edition 2016

The British Dance Edition, a biennial event and initiative of the National Dance Network, is renowned for presenting the best of British dance to promoters and producers from the UK and across the globe.

The 2016 event will consist of up to 30 performance slots by 36 leading UK dance artists and companies. The showcase offered networking opportunities, trade fairs, pitching sessions and social events across the four key venues in the Consortium, who worked together, led by Coreo Cymru, to create a dynamic and diverse high quality platform that inspires exchange, debate and new partnerships.

Hosting British Dance Edition represented an unprecedented occasion in the Welsh performing arts calendar with over 600 promoters, performers and producers attending the four day event which offered promotional opportunities for 72 UK dance companies and artists.

While British Dance Edition is targeted primarily towards promoters and producers of dance, tickets to a select number of performances were on sale to the general public, offering audiences a fantastic opportunity to experience some of the finest, most exciting UK dance around.

British Dance Edition 2016 selection panel consisted of: Carole Blade (Coreo Cymru); Louise Miles-Crust (Wales Millennium Centre); Eddie Nixon (The Place); Neil Webb (British Council); Jamie Watton (Dance South East) and international promoter Samme Raeymaekers (December Dance Festival, Brugge)
