Romeo a Juliet
Best Dance Production for the Wales Theatre Award 2014 and Critics Circle Award winning company, Ballet Cymru, co-presented an extraordinary adaptation of Shakespeare’s masterpiece ‘Romeo and Juliet’. Intense fighting, passionate duets and universal themes echoed through dramatic and lyrical choreography. Exquisite costumes and extraordinary video projections created a world of danger and excitement where two young lovers are caught in an age old feud. The choreographic team made up of Ballet Cymru’s Artistic Director, Darius James and Associate Director, Amy Doughty were joined by Coreo’s Associate Artist Jo Fong to create the stunning choreography danced by the company of eleven dancers to Sinfonia Cymru´s interpretation of Prokofiev’s iconic score.
